How does the MenaSat subscription service work?
The MenaSat subscription service uses both your regular ISDN or telephone modem Internet connection plus a connection to your personal satellite dish. Both connections work together to give you high speed Internet.


What is a DVB PCI satellite card?
DVB stands for Digital Video Broadcast. The DVB (PCI card, USB or RJ45) when properly installed and connected to your satellite dish, enables you to access the subscription service of MenaSat. 

How do I connect to the Internet?
First, make sure that your computer is able to connect to the Internet either through a telephone line or ISDN. You then need to select the MenaSat dial-up account provided on the MenaSat Installation CD ROM.

What is an ISP?
“ISP” stands for “Internet Service Provider.” An ISP provides the connection to the World Wide Web and Internet services, via your modem and telephone line.

Where do I get an ISP connection?
If you are a customer living in Egypt you will be able to select the MenaSat ISP. This software is located on the MenaSat Installation CD ROM. If you are a non-Egyptian resident, you are free to select any ISP you want to access MenaSat as long as your ISP assigns you with a fixed IP.

Can I continue with my existing ISP?
No if you are an Egyptian Resident. Yes is you are a non-Egyptian resident

How do I set up my Internet connection / e-mail?
A MenaSat Customer Service representative can help you with installation and set up questions. 

How long does it take before I can use the service?
Once you’ve installed the MenaSat DVB and software, access to the MenaSat subscription service is immediate. 

Can I use Amex or other credit cards?
The only credit cards accepted by MenaSat at the present time are Amex, Master Card and Visa.

Can I choose a monthly payment option?
Yes.

Can I pay by bank transfer?
Bank transfer option is available for purchases outside Egypt.

Please speak with a MenaSat customer service representative to change personal or payment details on your MenaSat subscription account.

Can I access the MenaSat subscription service without a satellite dish?
No.

What size a dish do I need?
The size requirement of your satellite dish depends on where you live in relation to the NileSat satellite footprint. Generally, if you are located in North Africa & the Middle East, you are only required to have a 60 cm dish. A larger dish is required for locations outside the centre footprint of NileSat 101. If you have any questions, please check the MenaSat website (Coverage Footprint) for diagrams of the NileSat footprints.

What sort of satellite dish do I need?
Your satellite dish must be digital and have a Universal LNB (Low Noise Block). 

Can I receive both TV and the MenaSat subscription service from the same satellite dish?
This is possible, but we recommend that you use a dual LNB.

Where do I get my user name and password?
The MenaSat order form will ask you to specify a user name and a password to set up your subscription. 
You will be asked for your user name and password each time you log on to the MenaSat service.
